As with all heirloom creations by Sparklers', this butterfly brooch is handcrafted with 8 pieces of specially-cut Australian opals. The wings are spread out as if in flight, revealing the 8 freeform Australian opals.
Each piece of opal is cut for its colour and shaped to fit into the wings’ unique freeform shape and pattern. The body consists of a round rose-cut diamond, with a craved marquise shape Mother-of-Pearl. The pair of Alexandrite cat's eye breathes life into the butterfly. Hammered out from gold, combined with the opals and the bursts of the enamelled colours on its wing, it is a masterpiece that took 6 months to complete. A piece of jewellery created to be worn for every occasion.
